The King James Bible of 1611 is described as one of the most important publications in history, and also the most faithful to the Textus Receptus.

King James I of England brought together the greatest religious scholars and linguists for a new translation of the Bible in order to establish the most accurate and most dignified translation to date. He appointed 54 scholars to work on the translation, and 47 worked in six groups in three locations for seven years.

Upon completion, the King James Bible was first printed in 1611 by Robert Barker. The Bible was very large, about 40cm high. Because of the high cost and value, it was announced to churches that the Bible should be chained in the pulpits.

The 1611 Bible was authorized to be read in churches, which is why it was called the Authorized Version. Anyway, we at BV Books are happy to be able to present the Authorized Portuguese Version of the King James Bible.
